I’m delighted to announce the launch of our very first giveaway! This giveaway will automatically enter all paid subscribers into a raffle to win the full, 13-volume set of Bernard Cornwell’s The Last Kingdom series, which trace the adventures of Uhtred of Bebbanburg, a Northumbrian noble, from the arrival of the Great Heathen Army through the Battle of Brunanburh. The historical fiction series is a global bestseller and has been adapted by the BBC and Netflix into a popular TV show, also entitled The Last Kingdom.

The rules for entry are simple. Each paid member will be automatically entered into the raffle: basic subscribers will receive one ticket, while pro subscribers will receive two. There is no further action required for subscribers to get their tickets – just subscribe and you will automatically be enrolled.

There is, however, another way in which one can enter the raffle without a paid subscription (this is required by US law). If one refers a different person to the site and he or she becomes a paid member, then the referrer will get two tickets as well. That, however, will not happen automatically – either the referrer or the referee will need to email me at historicalcourses@gmail.com and I will manually give them the tickets.

Entry into the raffle is open through 11:59 PM, May 31, 2021. Drawing will take place shortly thereafter, and the winner will be contacted. In order to qualify for the prize, the winner must still be a subscriber to HistoryCourses. In the case of someone whose tickets came from referring someone else, that person must still be subscribed. In the event that a ticketholder doesn’t qualify, a new winner will be drawn.

Shipping will be paid for within the Continental US. All local laws apply.
